Can you say “gorging session?” Maybe if we think long and hard enough about today’s blog topic we can burn some much needed calories off. Who am I kidding? I guess a little wishful thinking never hurt anyone; RIGHT?
None of us get to choose our DNA. It’s already predetermined based on our family tree. You can however control the evolution of branding your business properly. Just as any vehicle needs two or four wheels to get from A to Z. Every business needs a brand. That brand has the power to make you or break you. How does your brand reflect what you stand for?
Embracing these concepts can help strengthen the DNA of your brand.
The Customer Experience-The quintessential heartbeat of proper branding. HANDS DOWN! Think of it like this: The next ten customers who walk through the door each have to tell ten other people something positive or negative about your business. Would that motivate you to provide the best service possible? Of course it would.
The ONLY Rule Of Thumb-Remember the first time someone purchased your product/service? It was a great feeling; wasn’t it? It reinforced the reasons why you started your own business in the first place. Didn’t it? It meant this could work; RIGHT? You were on your way. Somewhere a long the line the daily ripping and running wore you down and passion may have taken a back seat. Get excited again. TREAT EACH NEW CLIENT AS IF THEY ARE THE FIRST PURCHASE IN THE HISTORY OF YOUR COMPANY. Every customer today is an investment in future sales tomorrow. Shouldn’t they be treated as such? The evolution of technology might change the way we interact with customers but providing a pleasurable customer experience will always prove invaluable not to mention-timeless. It can never be overstated.
Make Me Feel Important- Sigmund Freud believed the inner most humanistic need was the desire to be important. All of us want to feel as if we matter. Look at the purchasing experience that exists within your business. What simple nuances would improve it? Really think about it. Now take the answer and apply it to the purchasing experience (within reason). Make each client feel as if their needs are above all else.
Stay In Touch- Check in from time to time. Not to resell them. Remember they gave you an outlet to communicate. Don’t abuse it. Respect their time and the fact that they are busy. Keep it short. Share some new and exciting information about your services that’s relative to them (it’s not about you). You just wrote a new blog and think that every previous customer could benefit from it. Share it. Check in on Holidays and wish them and their families well. Let them know of any upcoming new product launches or sales. Email them a 25% coupon on their next purchase. Remember don’t overload them. Only send out a “touching base’ email once every so often. Not every week. Not even every month. Just enough to stay on their radar. This is called “fusing the brand.” They already are familiar with you now it’s about keeping your company ingrained so any time a conversation comes up relative to your industry-KAPOW!! Your name gets mentioned or pops in their lovely head. Either way you win.
