Clutter Busters

Website Design No Comments

The week is coming to a resounding end. It’s been a busy one here at Premier Pixels Las Vegas web design headquarters. In the midst of all the activity and stimuli around me, something totally out of character happened to me-I forgot to complete a task that was on my brain from the time I left my house and got to the office. Not a huge deal and it will get done tomorrow for sure but it dawned on me, as our company grows it’s becoming more of a challenge to get everything done in a day. Not enough hours in the day if you ask me. Not too mention emails, phone calls, inquiries, proposals and whatever else you have planned on your to do list is guaranteed to increase five folds once you check your email or have a meeting with your team.

Of course this is far from a complaint as I would much rather have too much to do than not enough. So I’ve decided to make some changes and blog about how to harness a clutter buster. Here are a few tips from all you entrepreneurs on the grind. After all we could all stand for a few improvements in the time management department. At least i know I could. So here is a few ways to “Bust the Clutter.”

1. Write it Down- One of the first lessons I learned from my mentor was to never rely on your memory. Studies show the average person has well beyond ten thousand thoughts per day. As the world turns, where do you begin channel it all? Can you say “overwhelming?” Even if you split these thoughts in two categories-business and personal, that’s still over five thousand thoughts per category. Writing it down is by far the best trick in the book to stay on top your to do list. One of the biggest things for me is trying to remember something while driving. Ever get a great idea while stopped at a red light? The light turns green and so goes your idea. Of course you plan on writing it down when you get stationary but it never seems work out that way. To combat this, I’ve learned carrying a  notepad and pen in the cozy confines of my consul is the best way to go. As soon as I hit a red light, thoughts turn into notes to self for a later time. I KNOW, I KNOW, it’s far from rocket science, what can I say? Our Las Vegas web design company always aims to please.

Go Where your Time is Valued- This may not be an exact “how to” but it is so important. Time is the most valuable commodity on earth. You can have all the money in the world but it can never buy you even one minute of your time back. It’s important to always respect other people’s time but equally important is them respecting your time. Amazingly enough in business I’ve learned that the clients responsible for ten percent of your revenue often demand ninety percent of your time. Ironically, the other ninety percent of revenue come from clients who only ask for ten percent of your time. Ahh…and so the irony cometh fourth. Regardless I love helping our clients and will go above and beyond for everyone of them but it’s important to establish boundaries for those who may not respect how valuable your time is. It’s also important to mention that if you learn to respect your time, it sets a certain precedence. This sort of demeanor brings with it a sort of energy that demands respect for your time and others will treat it as such. Don’t ever go where your time is not valued, it cheapens your worth and everyone of us have potential in us to offer value to someone else. So, pretty please- go where your time is appreciated.

I was going to go into a few more thoughts on how to organize the clutter, but it’s Friday evening and the first seventy degree day we’ve had since I’ve been on the east coast working on a new project. Hopefully, this provided some insight. It’s pretty self explanatory but business has a close similarity to life, working on the little things turns into big things. Now time for some fresh Spring air. Thanks and have a great weekend!!!
