Flash Animation Woes
Good morning from Premier Pixels Las Vegas web design company. Its important to have an eye catching presentation that resonates with the visitor. The problem is if you set the ‘look and feel’ sights too high; it hinders the progress of S.E.O. (the backbone of online marketing). Flash animation is somewhat of a double edged sword. It is visually pleasing; but at what cost? Google has made great leaps and bounds to give flash sites more visibility but the bottom line is flash is still extremely difficult for search engines to index.
If you’re one of those people who love the idea of animating your website; then ‘congratulations’ is in order. It shows you’re creative and committed to your vision. You’re not alone as many new clients walk through our doors with grand visions of dynamic flash to wow visitors out of their seats. Every new web design starts out with high expectations as they rightfully should. The problem is if flash precedes quality content; visibility takes a backseat. When visibility is put on the back burner so goes the profit margins. In most cases the end result isn’t a pretty one.
Our Las Vegas web designand internet marketing team will never tell you it won’t work. It does however stack the odds significantly against you. This isn’t to say you shouldn’t incorporate flash. Aesthetically pleasing ‘web candy’ is part of any good online presentation so by all means “flash away” but there must be balance; and not an equal one at that. A good rule of thumb for you is the 80/20 rule. Eighty percent content; twenty percent flash.
A skilled designer/programmer should be able to accomplish close to your same vision using html. There may be a few slight differences here and there but overall the objectives will remain in tact all the while keeping the website S.E.O. relevant. Its all a matter of perspective. The more content the better. The less flash the better. The less content the worse; get the picture? Remember visibility equals profitability. You can have the most ‘dazzling’ website the world has ever seen but if the search engines are having difficulty reading it than no one even knows you exist. If that’s the case; then what’s the point?
