The Organic Search Marketing Paradigm
S.E.O. is becoming one of those acronyms synonymous with marketing-even at the highest level of corporate culture. Fortune 500 companies down the line are beginning to realize ranking organically is no longer an option to stay competitive.
Are you ready for this statistical slice of heaven {Or slap in the face depending on where you’re standing:-)}?
Silicon Insider recently reported a new Goldman Sachs survey suggests search engines have the most significant influence on online shopping activity with 33% of all searches done through search engines. While social sites like Facebook represent only 5% of online shopping decisions.
Sounds crazy; right?
That’s right my fine feathered friends, A THIRD of consumers use search engines when performing a product search before they purchase.
What does this mean for your business?
Hopefully, a whole hell of a lot because if the big guns are starting to take notice, it’s time we did too; RIGHT? What else does this survey tell us boys and girls?
How about it’s no longer smart to rely solely on pay-per click to land business?
Yes pay-per click should always play a role in your online marketing because it works but not at the expense of abandoning your rankings organically. Which is what many companies (amazingly) still do including a number of big boys who are Fortune 500 worthy.
7 Reasons Why C.E.O.s (Yes I’m talking to YOU) Realize the Organic Tide is Turning
1. There’s no better way to be effective in marketing than to know your demographic (inside and out) and adapt to their behavior. This study accentuates the behavior of your typical customer. Why wouldn’t you want a commanding presence where they gather?
2. It’s the smart long term move. Internet marketing is a chess game. Isn’t smart marketing about thinking five and ten moves ahead. Where can your rankings be in 3 years or ten years if you start planning today?
3. It balances out your attack. Pay-per click mixed with organic visibility equals higher profitability.
4. There is no substitute for search engine marketing. Not even Facebook will ever replace Google. Did I say “EVER!?”
5. The longer you take to pull the trigger, the longer it will take to achieve first page positioning.
6. Now for the painfully obvious- it’s way more cost effective to rank organically than to pay for every click. DUH?! Laugh if you want but but you’d be amazed at how many Fortune 500 C.E.O.s are just now starting to figure that out.
7. When you begin thinking outside the box you’ll soon realize the combination of keywords relevant to driving more traffic to your website is unlimited. Collectively hundreds of thousands to millions of people are looking for your products and services every single month. If you’re able to do business anywhere in the world, those numbers go up to tens of millions of searches per/month because of location specific keywords. The sky is the limit.
Coincidence or Not?
Isn’t it amazing when two people look at the same painting but have two different ideas as to what that painting symbolizes? It’s no secret everyone perceives things differently. To most of us in the industry, targeting keywords from an organic perspective seems like common sense but theres still successful C.E.O.s in the marketplace who haven’t come to this realization yet. If that someone is you, maybe you stumbled upon this post for a reason. Get your ass in gear today because the longer you wait, the more customers are passing you by. I don’t know about you but here at our Las Vegas S.E.O. and Website Design headquarters that’s what we call dropping the ball:-(
