Surprise!! Google + 1 Buttons For Sale
Here’s a shocker…
Just like clockwork, the black hat crews are fresh on the scene as expected attempting to capitalize off the new launch of Google +through selling Google + buttons. Did you really believe the bottom feeders could keep their pincer’s to themselves? NO WAY. TOO MUCH TEMPTATION in such a big ocean full of predators and preys. If you’re two steps ahead, you know fooling them into believing you’re making an impact when you’re really stealing from the cookie jar is a big gamble. That’s right boys and girls, as with any shady ass internet marketing strategy, the payoff doesn’t equal the risk.
Oh The Possibilities
We all know Facebook Likes and Google + buttons hold link value. And as search engines evolve, the quality of Google + links will inevitably appreciate. But the real question is: Is this another layer of skin beneath the surface of SEO or an admission by Google? Have they finally come to the realization social media, +1s and Likes are the next big trend of content sharing?
Or in laments terms: Is this Bart Simpson shirts (if you don’t know, you’re making me feel old) or vintage Polo?
No one is saying Google came in the game too late. I have my own theory about that (OH GOSH! ANOTHER THEORY!) The question is how far will they take the social media space? Is this the ‘end all be all’ to filter quality content off set by even more quality content with more links? Are you getting dizzy? I need Dramamine.
They have the ability to continue changing the face of the internet and how businesses market online, but are we sure this isn’t a gimmick? Is Google for real? or buying time to reclaim the throne? Are they playing capture the flag with Facebook?
Who Brings a Knife to a Gunfight?
In a fist fight, Google Wins 999 out of a thousand. (That’s like the Gambino Crime Family against the “when you’re a jet, you’re a jet all the way-Funky Bunch” :-)
You still can’t buy your way to the top of Google unless you’re a politician-no, wait even they can’t. It makes my skin crawl to watch someone waste money looking for the shortcut. Besides being short sighted; where’s the challenge in buying Google +s? Is it tempting? Maybe. But arguably it’s just a shallow as being in a fraternity or sorority for the sake of buying your friends. Or connections. Okay. Ease back. Don’t swing at me. No dis to all the former frat bros and sorority sisters. It’s just an opinion.
The Hoodwink Effect
Buying Google + buttons is not a real strategy. It’s a recipe for disaster. It may work for a time, but it fizzles out. the reality is a livelihood can’t depend on bought relationships. They won’t last long because they aren’t built on substance. One thing is for sure, Google has the world by the balls, so follow with sound technique, or get them ripped off and handed to you. Should we be critical of Google? Damn right we should. That’s our right to make our voice known.
